Ghanaian right-back Jeremie Frimpong provided an assist in Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga season opener draw against Union Berlin on Saturday.
The Dutch-born Ghanaian lasted the entire duration of the match on the field for the Europa League team as they came from behind to pick up a valuable point against a difficult side.
Seven minutes after Kickoff, Nigeria’s Taiwo Awoniyi opened the scoring to put the Red and Yellows in an early and deserving lead after a blistering start to the match.
Five minutes later, Frimpong set up French youngster Moussa Diaby to cancel out Union’s lead on the 12th minute mark with a beautiful pass.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian now has an assist in the first game of the 2021-22 German Bundesliga season for Leverkusen.
