Germany Bundesliga 2 side SG Dynamo Dresden has to do without Ghanaian midfielder Michael Akoto in their upcoming game against FC Nürnberg after the international break due to injury, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.
The Ghanaian midfielder, Akoto got injured in the test match against Viktoria Berlin, a game the Yellow and Blacks won (4-0) on Thursday afternoon.
The defensive player, Akoto has torn a muscle fiber in his leg area which will keep him out for at least two weeks.
This was the result of the evaluation of an MRT examination on Friday morning at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden.
Ralf Becker, Managing Director Sport of SGD, says: “The absence of Michael at this stage of the season is very bitter. We wish him an optimal and quick recovery and we will support him as best we can.”
“As a team, we will now move even closer together in order to master this phase as well and to compensate for the failures together.”
The 24-year-old former Mainz 05 player joined the Bundesliga 2 side this summer ahead of the 2021-22 season and has been a pivot for the club as they push for promotion into the Bundesliga.
