Leicester City were defeated by Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday during Week 4 of the English Premier League but there were no minutes for Ghana defender Daniel Amartey.
The Ghanaian started and completed Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia but was part of the players blacklisted from playing in South Africa due to the UK’s Covid-19 restrictions.
Having gone back to his club he remained on the bench the whole duration of the game against Pep Guardiola’s side who won with a single goal scored by Bernardo Silva.
Manager Brendan Rodgers fielded Soyuncu and Vestegaard in central defence and when he made a change to this pair he called on former Manchester United center back Jonny Evans who replaced Vestegaard in the 60th minute.
