Former Bechem United forward, Iddrisu Abdallah is hoping to have a great season with his new club CD Costa do sol in Mozambique after helping them win the ultimate in a four-team tournament in Maputo last weekend.
The Ghanaian striker joined the Mozambican club in January 2017 on a one-year deal and has already hit the ground running, scoring the only goal as CD Costa do sol beat Desportivo Nacala 1-0 to lift the preseason mini tournament in the capital.
Ahead of the start of the top flight league in Mozambique, Iddrisu has is confident his new club will be a force to recon with in the 2017 season of the Mocambola.
“This cup means a lot for the team because it boosted the start of our preparation towards the league”, he told SportsWorldGhana.com from his base in Mozambique.
“I think my Target for the season has already begun with the cup we lifted. I want to make sure I work for the team to clear the suffering they had last season with fighting of the relegation”, he added.
Speaking about his new team, Iddrisu said, “Every body in the team is nice to me especially my team mates”.
His match-winning goal last weekend has without a doubt boosted the confidence of the former Bechem United forward who is already eyeing the top scorers award in the 2017 Mocambola.
“I can see their hope is on me to score as many goals for the club. So my most target for the season is to score like 10 to 15 goals for the season. I believe that number of Goals can lift me to be a goal kings in the season”, Iddrisu stated.
“But I am not only fighting to win as an individual. I am fighting hard to Win more trophies for the team because at the end I want my name will be in the team that won cup for Costal Do sol in a year of 2017 even if am not here anymore” he added.
