Ghanaian center-forward, Martin Boakye was on target for Croatian team NK Slaven Belupo in the Croatie Elite League on Friday night at home.
The 25-year-old attacker came from the bench to score in his team’s 5-1 humbling of NK Istra 1961 in the week seven encounter in the Croatian First League.
Tomislav Bozic gave the host a comfortable two goals lead before the break by scoring on the 31st minutes and on the stroke of half time whistle respectively.
Ivan Krstanovic and Nemanja Glavcic scored on the 50th and 60th of the second half to make it 4-0 to Slaven Belupo who were determined to tear NK Istra apart on the day.
The 25-year-old striker, Boakye was introduced to the match after 76 minutes and scored his first goal of the season for NK Slaven Belupo two minutes later after replacing Krstanovic to make the score 5-0 with just over ten minutes left to play.
Five mminutes to the end of the game, Matej Vuk scored a consolation for NK Istra 1961 as they suffered a demolishing defeat away from home.
Boakye, since his move to NK Slaven Belupo has played six games this season with his first goal coming against Istra from the bench.
