Ghana’s left-back, Gideon Mensah has been named in the Girondins de Bordeaux squad for the first time since playing for the Black Stars in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The former West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate was quarantined in France after representing his country in Johannesburg against Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Upon his arrival, the Ghanaian international was made to undergo a mandatory quarantine period which kept him out of his team’s two games.
The 23-year-old former RB Salzburg man is part of the Bordeaux team for their away game against Montpellier this evening in the French Ligue 1.
He was previously involved in his team’s games before coming to Ghana during the international break for the FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Ethiopia and South Africa.
He could be starting the game for his team on his return.
