Black Stars defender Gideon Mensah had to be taken off in Saturday’s league game between AJ Auxerre and Troyes in the French Ligue 1.
Mensah came off in what is expected to be an injury in the first half of the game with the score still at 0-0.
The left-back was substituted in the 27th minute of the game as he couldn’t continue the game with Julian Jeanvier taking his place.
It was the 24-year-Old’s first game since returning from the last international break where he played all minutes available in Ghana’s doubleheader against Angola.
The Black Stars faced the Palencas Negras in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Mensah becoming one of three players to play all minutes in the two games.
However, his return to club football ended prematurely as he had to come off in the first half of the game.
The club will assess the player in the coming days to know the extent of the injury.
