Former Ghana FA vice president, George Afriyie has called for Accra Great Olympics captain, Gladson Awako’s inclusion into the Black Stars set up.
According to the astute football administrator, the 30-year-old former TP Mazembe man has all the requisite requirements to be part of the senior national team of the West African giants.
The owner of Okyeman Planners and an official of Liberty Professionals FC, Afriyie, made that pronouncement after the diminutive midfield-gem’s scintillating and eye-catching performance in the Ghana Premier League.
After Awako’s exploits in Great Olympics win over neighbors Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday night when the Blue and Whites defeated the Phobians, the former vice FA president took to his official Facebook page to write:
“You deserve a Black Stars call up, after all some of you mates are still part of the squad.”
Awako produced a moment of magic on the 13th minute of the match when his jaw-breaking free-kick beat Hearts goalkeeper Richmond at his near post to put the DADE Boys ahead in the GA-Mashie Derby.
Olympics went on to win the match by a 2-0 score as they got the better of their opponents to gain bragging rights over the Rainbow Club
The former Berekum Chelsea midfielder has found the back of the net fur times and provided three assists in eleven games this season in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League.
