Golden Kick FC head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson has expressed pride in his team’s impressive journey to the FA Cup final, despite a narrow 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko.
Hanson described the occasion as a major achievement for the club, noting that the experience gained outweighed the disappointment of the result.
“Reaching the FA Cup final is a remarkable accomplishment and holds great value for the team,” he said. “The lessons and exposure we gained from playing in such a high-profile game are far more important than the final score.”
He also shared that Golden Kick FC remained focused on their own preparation throughout, rather than studying their opponents.
“Our focus wasn’t on Asante Kotoko—we concentrated on ourselves,” he stated. “We didn’t even review their past matches as part of our preparation.”
The final appearance marks a historic moment for the lower-tier side, and Hanson is expected to use the experience as a foundation for further growth. Asante Kotoko, following their victory, will go on to represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
