Golden Kick FC head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson has shared his thoughts following his team’s narrow 2-1 loss to Asante Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup final, describing the experience as a valuable milestone in the club’s journey.
Despite falling short, Hanson expressed immense pride in his squad for reaching the final, calling it a momentous achievement.
“Playing in the final of the FA Cup has been of great value and a huge accomplishment for the team,” he said. “It’s an experience that will benefit us in the long run.”
Hanson also revealed that his team’s preparations were inward-focused, as they concentrated on improving themselves rather than studying their opponents.
“Our focus was not on Asante Kotoko but on ourselves,” he stated. “We didn’t even watch their matches before the final. We wanted to concentrate on our own development.”
Though the defeat denied Golden Kick their first major silverware, Hanson believes the lessons learned on such a big stage will shape the club’s future progress.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko’s triumph secures them a spot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, where they will represent Ghana on the continental stage.
