Hours after departing from Nairobi on Tuesday morning, Kenyan Premier League leaders Gor Mahia have arrived in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania safely.
The SportPesa Super Cup champions are scheduled to play Everton FC on Thursday July 13, 2017 at the National Stadium.
A total of 26 players made the Dar trip and will hold training sessions later in the day at the Uhuru and National Stadiums.
Accompanying them is new coach Dylan Kerr who was unveiled by the club on Monday.
Among the Everton players who will travel to Tanzania is returnee Wayne Rooney, who is looking forward to some game time against the KPL record champions.
“It’ll be nice and hopefully I’ll get on the pitch and get some game-time. It’s good when you go away with the team.
It’s good to be around the hotel with the players, spend more time with them and get to know them more. I’ve never been to Tanzania before, so I’m really looking forward to it,’’ said Rooney.
