Berekum Chelsea have entered advanced negotiations with former Asante Kotoko midfielder Samuel Tenedu as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of a crucial second half of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Berekum-based club find themselves 16th on the league table after the completion of the first round and are deeply embroiled in a relegation battle, prompting urgent moves to strengthen key areas of the team.
Tenedu is currently available as a free agent after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Asante Kotoko, a situation that has heightened interest from several clubs seeking experienced reinforcements without the burden of a transfer fee.
Chelsea are keen to move swiftly to secure the midfielder’s signature, believing his composure, experience and familiarity with the demands of the Ghana Premier League could provide much-needed balance and leadership in the middle of the park.
If completed, the deal would represent a significant boost for Chelsea as they attempt to stabilise performances and improve results in the second round, with survival in the top flight now the club’s primary objective.
