Mohammed Yahaya’s heroics off the bench propelled Accra Lions to a thrilling 2-1 victory over Nsoatreman at the WFA Park.
Nsoatreman secured an early lead just 11 seconds into the match through Kwabena Adu Meider, but Accra Lions fought back with determination.
Despite Nsoatreman’s initial advantage, Accra Lions regrouped, gaining control of the game and creating numerous opportunities against the resilient Nsoatreman defense.
In the second half, strategic substitutions by Accra Lions, introducing Fredrick Asante and Yahaya Mohammed, proved pivotal. Yahaya demonstrated his prowess by rising high to head home a cross from captain Dominic Nsobila, leveling the score.
With only nine minutes remaining, Yahaya showcased his skill with a clever dribble past two defenders in the box, sealing the comeback with a confident left-footed strike into the net.
The victory marked a crucial turnaround for Accra Lions, bringing an end to their two-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Nsoatreman suffered their second consecutive defeat, unable to withstand the resurgent Lions.
