Medeama SC scored two goals from the spot to condemn Asante Kotoko to three games winless spree at the T&A Park in the 10th week of the Ghana premier league.
The Porcupine warriors quest to turn things was evident in the early stages of the duel as they forced Medeama back to their forth and in the 30th minutes Ahmed Adams made it count.
The visitors had the opportunities to cushion their lead but it was not to be as the home side fought back in style.
Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong was the first victim of the second half as he handled the ball in the box to offer Medeama the first spot, Paul Aidoo stood up to dispatch Felix Annan to fetch the equalizer.
Medeama intensity paid off 6 minutes to the end of the encounter as Awudu Nafiu pulled Medeama attacker to set another penalty for the home side and Paul Aidoo was hand to secure the tie in favour of the Tarkwa charges.
The victory gives Medeama SC the first win over Kotoko at T&A for the first time.
Accra Hearts of Oak had to wait until the 86th before they could breathe in a tension-packed fixture against Bechem United.
Hearts of Oak had scored three goals through Thomas Abbey, Richard Akrofi and Fatawu Mohammed in the first half but the visitors reduced the deficit by two in spate of 15 minutes through Nana Antwi Manu and Bashiru to par pressure on the capital side.
Hearts stood tall and Comos Dawuda rose above the defenders to tap home the cushion.
