Week 10 of the Ghana Premier League took place on Boxing Day as six matches were completed on Sunday.
In Kumasi
Asante Kotoko defeated WAFA by 1-0 in Kumasi thanks to Richmond Lamptey’s 58th minute strike. The win takes Kotoko to 2nd place on the standings on 20 points in 9 matches behind King Faisal who also have 20 points in 10 games.
In Tarkwa
Aduana Stars were stopped in Tarkwa by Medeama. The Ogya Boys were on a six-game winning streak but Amed Toure’s late winner defeated them. The team of Asare Bediako thus drops to 3rd position on the league standings but have the same number of points as Kotoko and King Faisal – 20.
In Berekum
At the Golden City Park Berekum Chelsea claimed a narrow win over Ashantigold as Stephen Anokye Badu converted a first half penalty. The Miners have now lost two of their last three games in the league.
In Bibiani
Gold Stars recorded a 3-1 win over Karela United. Prince Owusu, Charles Camara Gyamfi and Nuhu Sule scored the goals for the home side whilst Umar Bashiru scored the consolation goal for the visitors.
Meanwhile Great Olympics beat Eleven Wonders by 2-0 and Bechem United won 1-0 against King Faisal.
