Ghanaian football giants Asante Kotoko have bolstered their squad with the signing of goalkeeper Benjamin Twum from Young Apostles FC.

The 19-year-old joins the Porcupine Warriors on a three-and-a-half-year deal as their first acquisition in the second transfer window of the 2024/25 season.

Twum has gained widespread recognition for his outstanding performances in the Ghana Premier League this season. Renowned for his sharp reflexes, impeccable positioning, and composure, the young shot-stopper is expected to bring fresh energy and depth to Kotoko’s goalkeeping department. He will join the ranks of Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and Guinea’s Mohammed Camara.

The lanky goalkeeper played a pivotal role in Young Apostles’ historic promotion to the Ghana Premier League last season. Twum’s heroics were particularly evident during the playoffs against Techiman Heroes, where his stellar performance in the penalty shootouts secured their spot in the top flight.

Twum also shone on the international stage, serving as a key member of the Black Satellites squad that finished as runners-up in the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship. Although Ghana fell to Nigeria in a hard-fought final, Twum’s performances throughout the tournament were commendable.
