Accra Hearts of Oak have begun negotiations to sign former Bibiani Goldstars forward Prince Kwabena Owusu as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
The 27-year-old is currently a free agent following a brief stint with Saudi Arabian lower-tier side Al-Hedayah, whom he joined in August last year on a two-year deal. However, his time in the Gulf ended prematurely after just six months for undisclosed reasons.
Owusu made his mark in the Ghana Premier League during his time with Bibiani Goldstars, where he emerged as one of the league’s standout performers. Across 86 topflight appearances, he registered 16 goals and 7 assists, drawing interest from several local and international clubs.
His most impressive season came with the Miners when he scored 9 goals and provided 2 assists in 29 appearances—form that earned him a reputation as one of the league’s most consistent forwards.
Sources close to the Rainbow Club indicate that talks with Owusu and his representatives are already underway, with the player reportedly expressing a strong desire to join Hearts. A deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the week, barring any last-minute changes.
Should the transfer go through, Owusu would add firepower and experience to a Hearts of Oak side aiming to rebuild after a challenging campaign.
