Former Legon Cities midfielder Jonah Attuquaye is on the brink of sealing a move to Accra Hearts of Oak after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Ghanaian giants.
The 24-year-old has been without a club in recent months following the end of his stint with Latvian top-tier side FK Auda, where he spent nearly two seasons. Eager to relaunch his career, Attuquaye has accepted the opportunity to return home and join the Phobians ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Attuquaye first rose to prominence at Berekum Chelsea, impressing during a short but impactful spell before switching to Legon Cities. His dynamic performances at the Accra-based club caught the eye, eventually earning him a move to Europe.
During his time with FK Auda, he made 39 appearances in all competitions, including two matches in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.
Reports indicate that the versatile midfielder will arrive in Accra today for his medical, after which an official announcement is expected from Hearts of Oak.
With 87 Ghana Premier League appearances under his belt, Attuquaye has registered 15 goals and 4 assists, making him a valuable addition to the Hearts midfield.
The Phobians have been very active in the transfer market as they look to finalize key signings ahead of the President’s Cup early next month.
