Newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side Nations FC are on the verge of completing the signing of highly-rated left-back Joseph Amoah from Legon Cities, sources close to the club have confirmed.

The deal is expected to be finalized immediately after the conclusion of Nations FC’s final fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. Amoah, who has been one of the standout performers for Legon Cities this campaign, will undergo medical tests next week before officially putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Talks between the two clubs have progressed smoothly in recent weeks, with only minor formalities left to conclude. Nations FC see Amoah as a key addition to bolster their defense ahead of their second season in the Ghana Premier League, following an impressive debut campaign that saw them secure mid-table safety.

Amoah, 24, has caught the eye with his consistency, pace, and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively from the left flank. He has been an ever-present figure in Legon Cities’ backline and is widely regarded as one of the most promising left-backs in the domestic league.

The defender’s move to Nations FC is seen as a step forward in his career, as he joins a club with growing ambition and financial backing. Sources indicate that the Kumasi-based side are eager to wrap up their business early this off-season and have identified Amoah as a long-term asset who can play a crucial role in their quest for improved performance in the upcoming campaign.

Once Amoah completes his medicals and final paperwork, Nations FC are expected to officially announce the deal.
