Asante Kotoko will return to action in the week two of the Ghana Premier League when they travel to Berekum to face Chelsea. The Warriors were frustrated in the opener against Eleven Wonders in Accra.
Asante Kotoko always have to dig deep anytime they face Chelsea and this time they at the trickery Golden City Park. BereKum Chelsea were the victors the last both side met at the Baba Yare Sports Stadium.
In terms of materials wise, Asante Kotoko has assembled best which should put them at a good position but the evidence from the game presupposed that the players would need time to gel. A relatively low average Eleven Wonders side dominated Kotoko for the majority of the game, an indication that Kotoko are not well placed going into the fixture.
More dreaded for Fabulous stems from the fact that Berekum Chelsea still can boost of players who have experience in the local game. Stephen Amankona, Kofi Owusu and Edward Kpdo are well established players who can cause havoc to any side. Even though they could not pick all the three points against Legon Cities FC, they put up a splendid performance in Accra.
Everything points to the fact that, Kotoko will sweat on Sunday and will again have to pull the chest knot if they want to stamp their authority on the League. Inasmuch as Chelsea looks on their fortress, Kotoko have the name and the hype around them, they have do scarier and trickery games than this before and know when to run away with victory.
Maxwell Konadu and his charges must tighten their belts because it is a journey to the Lion’s den, it will be difficult, hard to crack and uncompromising. A disciplined and combative midfield action with tactical supremacy will leave the Golden City Park victorious.
