Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC came from behind to pick valuable win at home against Dreams FC on Saturday afternoon in Obuasi.
The Red and Whites had to come fight back after going a goal down to secure a vital home win to go top of the league table after 23 matches with 41 points.
Agyenim Boateng Mensah converted a spot kick with a calm finish after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way following a hand ball situation by Fabio Gama to give the away team the lead on the 32nd minute mark.
Five minutes later, Brazilian striker, Vinicius Silva de Morais rose highest in the box to nod home the equalizer for the home team before heading into the interval.
Eleven minutes after the break, Kotoko were awarded a penalty of their own quite controversially and was nicely put away by center-back Ismael Abdul Ganiu to turn the game around for the Porcupines.
Ten minutes from full time, substitute Francis Andy Kumi popped up with his third league goal of the season and Kotoko’s third in the game to make it 3-1.
The game ended 3-1 as the Kumasi-based club returned to the summit of the table.
