Black Stars coach Avram Grant says his team will need a great fighting spirit to overcome Egypt in Sunday’s (13 November) World Cup qualifying clash in the absence of injured players.
The Black Stars will face Egypt without Al Ahli striker Asamoah Gyan, Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, and in-form Sassuolo star Alfred Duncan, but the Israeli is optimistic the 23 players called up can get the job done in Egypt.
‘’First, I am sure the team is happy. We showed that with the right team spirit and obviously if we are playing like a team, we can achieve a positive result. We did it in Africa… I want the key players but they are not available, and this is why we have a big squad and we need to show great fighting spirit to win without them,” Grant told journalists.
Asamoah Gyan who is injured visited his team mates in Dubai Tuesday and had this to say “We’ve got quality in the team don’t depend on an individual, we move as a team that’s why I’m here to support”.
The Black Stars got off to a disappointing start with a goalless draw match against Uganda while Egypt beat Congo 2-1 in the first match.
