Accra Great Olympics defender Ebenezer Sekyere won his first Man of the Match award of the season against Asante Kotoko in the matchday 20 clash.
The game ended goalless with the two sides sharing the spoils as Kotoko kept the top spot for at least another round of games.
The game was highly competitive and was dominated by the home team, Olympics, but could not find their way past the rock-solid Asante Kotoko defense led by Black Stars defender Ishmael Ganiu.
Ebenezer Sekyere, who was all over the pitch with an eye-catching display played a pivotal role in the heart of the defense for the Accra-based side to keep a clean sheet against a Kotoko side that had scored seven goals in three games before their encounter.
The former Asokwa Deportivo SC defender’s intervention in the 66th minute prevented his side from conceding a goal in the second half.
Gladson Awako and Samuel Ashie-Quaye Abbey was very impressive for Olympics in the game and were a threat to the Kotoko goal area throughout the match and wouldn’t have been a wrong choice as a candidate for the Man-Of-The-Match gong.
Sekyere showed his mettle at the back and his versatility in the game and also put in a great shift in the goalless game which earned him his first man-of-the-match award this season.
