Ghana international goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has praised his team St Gallen’s impressive performance in their 4-3 away win over Lausanne in the Swiss top-flight.

Ati-Zigi, who played the entire 90 minutes, made crucial saves throughout the game to help his team secure maximum points at the Stade de la Tuilière. Despite failing to keep a clean sheet, he was pleased with his team’s overall display.

The Black Stars goalkeeper took to Instagram to express his gratitude, writing: “All glory be to you Lord. What an amazing week, winning ways. Great Team Effort.”

The match saw St Gallen take an early lead through Isaac Schmidt’s goal in the first minute, before extending their advantage in the 20th minute through Willem Geubbels’ penalty.

Lausanne reduced the deficit just before halftime through an own goal from Chima Okoro, leaving the score 2-1 in favour of St Gallen at the break.

The second half saw St Gallen increase their lead through Chadrac Akolo’s goal in the 50th minute, before Moustapha Cissé sealed the win with a goal in the 70th minute.

Lausanne managed to pull two goals back in the dying minutes of the game through Noe Dussenne and Fousseni Diabaté, but it was too late to change the outcome. The final score was 4-3 in favour of St Gallen.

Ati-Zigi’s impressive performance and his team’s thrilling win will undoubtedly boost their morale ahead of their next fixture.
