Asante Kotoko policy Analyst Dr Amo Sarpong has been relieved of his post by the club, SportsworldGhana.com has established.
Kumasi based Sikka FM reports, Dr Amo Sarpong received the letter of his sacking on Friday morning from the club and will no longer be part of the management.
The relationship between the Executive Chairman of the club Dr Kwame Kyei and Dr. Amo Sarpong has not been good since the latter’s shooting incident three weeks ago in Berekum.
Dr Amo Sarpong fired a gun before their game with Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in the Normalization Committee Special Competition following a mob attack.
But a ruling on the case by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association saw Dr Yaw Amo Sarpong, Policy Analyst of Asante Kotoko, suspended from all football-related activities for six months after the DC found him guilty of wrongfully wielding a gun at the Golden City Park.
Dr Amo Sarpong has since decided he will not appeal the ban and will serve it accordingly.
However, the KNUST Lecturer after receiving his sacking letter , thanked management and supporters of the club for the unflinching support they offered him while serving the Ghanaian giants.
