Hamza Obeng will continue to serve as an assistant coach to head coach Zito, despite his responsibilities as head coach of the club’s junior side, management has clarified.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Sarfo Duku explained that Obeng has been assisting the senior team during the period when the Third Division League was on hold. His presence with the senior side during that time helped to strengthen the technical team and ensured continuity in training and match preparation.
With the Third Division League now underway, Obeng will naturally shift his focus to the junior team, where he remains fully in charge. As the head coach of that side, his priority will be to guide the juniors through their fixtures and ensure their development and competitiveness in the league.
However, Sarfo Duku made it clear that this change does not mean Obeng has stepped away from the senior team entirely. Once the junior team completes its league fixtures, Obeng will return to offer direct support to the senior side, working closely with Zito and the rest of the technical team.
Importantly, management stressed that Obeng’s role as assistant coach remains intact. His involvement with the senior team is ongoing, even if temporarily reduced due to his junior team duties. This arrangement reflects the club’s belief in continuity, flexibility, and the effective use of its technical staff.
The decision highlights management’s confidence in Obeng’s abilities and their commitment to balancing youth development with senior team stability. For now, both the junior and senior teams will continue to benefit from his expertise at different stages of the season.
