Ghana ace defender Harrison Afful provided an assist for Columbus Crew as they thrashed Seattle Sounders 3-0 on Saturday to become MLS champions.
Afful provided a deep cross in the 25th minute which met Zelarayan and he smashed in a left-footed shot past Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei.
The Crew extended their lead six minutes later, courtesy Derrick Etienne Jnr.’s strike.
Argentine star Zelarayan deepened Seattle’s woes in the 82nd minute with the third goal.
Meanwhile, Captain Jonathan Mensah was also solid at the back for the Black and Gold at the MAPFRE Stadium.
Mensah became the first African-born player to captain a side to the lift the coveted MLS Cup.
