Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu has called on the Ghana Football Association to abreast themselves with technological changes after Sunday’s incident at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians were held by noisy neighbours Great Olympics in a 1-1 stalemate game but Isaac Mensah’s disallowed goal was the topical issue of the game.
The Hearts forward saw his well-struck effort come off the crossbar and inside of the Olympics post in the first half but the referee and his assistant waved on for play to continue.
In his interview after the game, coach Boadu pointed that a goal should have been awarded but refused to discuss the decision of the referee.
“We got a lot of chances, we scored and the linesman disallowed Isaac Mensah’s goal,” he pointed out.
“I think the ball crossed the line and it was a clear goal but the linesman disallowed but I don’t want to talk about the officiating.”
Asked if that situation calls for a technological check, he answered: “Exactly, the goal goal should have been awarded. If we can get the goal-line technology, It will be of help.”
The boss also rued the missed opportunities from his side after taking the lead, stressing the need for his boys to do better.
Hearts will take on Medeama, a club Boadu trained before leaving for Accra, in their next game and the coach is confident his side will finish the game as the winning team.
“We are going there confidently, and definitely we [Hearts] are going to win that match,” Boadu added.
Hearts are now unbeaten in their last seven games following their draw on Sunday and have conceded just one goal in that period.
