Experience Accra Hearts of Oak shot stopper, Ben Mensah has recounted one of his saddest moment in his carrier as a Phobian.
In what will be described as a memorable FA Cup finals, Accra Hearts of Oak squared up against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Tamale Sports Stadium. The match gathered a lot of momentum as fans of both clubs travelled across the length and breadth of the country to converge at the Northern Regional capital in what was termed as the “unmissable finals”
The sheer brilliance of Sadick Adams after a scintillating first half hat-trick was enough to deny the Phobians the trophy.
The man who was in post for Accra Hearts of Oak recounts the day as one of his worst days at work “ one game that we lost and I felt very bad was the FA Cup finals against Kotoko in Tamale we lost that game and I felt very bad I came home and for about one week I could not go out I stayed in door throughout I did not know what to do to myself I was dreaming to lift that trophy but unfortunately we lost it was very difficult for me” Ben Mensah said in an interview with Hearts TV.
The goalkeeper who has found playing time hard to come by still believes he can win a trophy for the Capital based club very soon “I still want to win a trophy with the club before I leave the club” the ex-King Faisal player further said.
Accra Hearts of Oak travel to Bechem to face Bechem United in a Midweek Fixture.
