Former Accra Hearts Of Oak star Charles Taylor has hit hard at some former management members of the club.
According to Taylor, some management members of the club sometimes pleaded with them to intentionally lose games because of some financial constraints the club was going through.
Speaking on Kumasi FM, he alleged that it got to an extent where the club owed players winning bonus and other entitlements which the club couldn’t pay.
This forced the management into allowing the players to lose certain matches to escape paying their winning bonuses.
He said “They will tell us to lose the game because there is no money to pay us,”
Charles Taylor is regarded as on the best players who have ever played in the Ghana Premier League. In his heydays, he was an indispensable member of the “64 Battalion” squad of Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. that won the African Champions League in 2000 and other Ghanaian league titles.
He enjoyed a short stint at Kumasi Asante Kotoko after he left Accra Hearts of Oak which generated a lot of controversy.
