Frederick Moore, Managing Director of giants Accra Hearts of Oak says although striker Kofi Kordzi has emerged as a transfer target for Suadi Arabian side Al-Sailiya, the Phobians are willing to keep top striker for the upcoming 2020/21 season.
The well-built striker whose contract with the 2000 Caf Champions League winners, expires in 2022, is serious being courted by Al-Sailiya who are seeking to strengthen their attacking machinery.
Confirming the news on KUMASI FM 104.1MHZ, Moore said ”It’s unfortunate all of this has gone into the public domain. The letter that is circulating quoting a figure of $200,000 as a fee from the club is untrue. It was Hearts of Oak that valued the player at that figure,”
”There has been some discussions with the club but we do not want to do specific detail conversation. The board and the player, Kofi Kodzi were all involved. The letter had no monetary value on it, the club wanted Kofi Kodzi to hold medicals before negotiations begin.
”We just lost one of our strikers, somebody comes in and wants to take our goal king and top scorer for the last season, we have to negotiate hard to get the best deal so we can replace him.
He added that: ”Negotiating hard doesn’t mean we do not want the player to leave. The board is keen on keeping the player but if the player wants to leave, we will not stand on his way.”
Additionally, Mr. Moore in a different interview with Oyerepa FM indicated that the Phobains despite being in talks with the club, would want to keep their star striker for the upcoming season.
He says: ”Hearts board want the striker to stay, we will do our best but if he wants to go,we will allow him,”
