Hearts of Oak have officially announced that Ivorian coach Aboubakar Ouattara has been reassigned to a new role as Special Advisor to the club’s Board of Directors.
The move follows the recent appointment of Masud Didi Dramani as the new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Ouattara’s reassignment ends ongoing speculation about his future, with many initially linking him to the vacant Technical Director role after serving as head coach for the past 18 months.
In a statement, the club clarified his new position:
“As a special advisor, Ouattara will be working directly with the Board of Directors on special assignments and duties.”
Ouattara guided the Phobians to a fourth-place finish in the just-concluded 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign. His new role is expected to provide strategic support and technical insight to the club’s leadership as they embark on a new chapter under Dramani.
