Newly crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League, Accra Hearts of Oak has rejected an offer from French side Stade Reim to have forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh trial with them in the upcoming month.
Per the circulating report, the Accra-based club were approached with a letter from the Ligue 1 outfit last week, seeking the availability of the attacker for a short spell which is expected to take place between August and September.
According to sources, the trial was going to aid the French outfit’s decision of agreeing a deal with Hearts for the permanent signature of the Black Satellites skipper.
However, the Ghana Premier League giants have turned down the request of Reims, as they are ‘unhappy’ with the French club’s approach.
Samuel Boadu and his side are well committed to building a strong side for the CAF Champions League next season as they will be playing as representatives from Ghana. They are keen to on keeping their vital players ahead of their campaign in Africa.
Barnieh was a strong contributor in the latter stages of the 2020/21 Premier League season, with his impressive showings guiding them to historical clinch of the league title, their first in over 11 years.
