Hearts of Oak won the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title to end a ten-year trophy-less spell under the leadership of majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV and according to board member Frank Nelson Nwokolo the success of the Phobians cannot be attributed to just some few factors only.
“If the board did not move to get Samue Boadu it (title success) would not have happened. If the supporters did not say Salifu (Ibrahim) must be signed this would not have happened.” he told Fox FM.
“If the fans did not get up and say we need Isaac Mensah, we have Frederick Ansah, we have Barnie and co, this would not have happened. For me it was a collective responsibility. Everybody came on board. The management did their part. So lot of things came together to make this happen” Frank Nelson added.
Hearts of Oak finish the season this weekend with an away tie against WAFA in Sogakope.
