Accra Hearts of Oak are set to appoint Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, marking the beginning of a significant overhaul of the club’s technical team.
Dramani, a former Asante Kotoko head coach and current member of Ghana’s national team technical staff, is highly regarded for his tactical intelligence and proven track record in player development. He is expected to take over from Ouattara Aboubakar, whose tenure with the Phobians was marred by inconsistency and underwhelming performances.
Sources close to the club reveal that negotiations with Dramani are at an advanced stage, and the deal is nearing completion. The move underlines Hearts of Oak’s renewed intent to rebuild and position themselves as title contenders both locally and on the continental stage.
As part of this new direction, the Phobians are also closing in on the appointment of Abdulai Gazale, a former Asante Kotoko assistant coach and currently head coach of Basake Holy Stars, as the first assistant coach. Talks are progressing positively, with both parties confident of reaching an agreement soon.
Furthermore, Fiifi Parker Hanson, who led lower-tier side Golden Kick FC to a historic MTN FA Cup final this season, is in line to become the second assistant coach, subject to Dramani’s final approval.
Should all appointments be finalized, the trio of Dramani, Gazale, and Hanson would form a highly experienced and well-balanced technical team—blending national team expertise, domestic top-flight knowledge, and youthful energy.
With preparations underway for the upcoming President’s Cup against Kotoko and the new league campaign, Hearts of Oak are moving swiftly to stabilize their technical department and return to winning ways.
