Head coach of Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has claimed his side will hoist the flag of Ghana very high in next season’s CAF Champions League.
Following their declaration as the champions of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, the Rainbow lads will be Ghana’s representatives in the continental competition, which is set to begin later this year.
Hearts won the league title, their first in 12 years, following their hard fought 1-1 draw with Liberty Professionals last weekend but still has one league game left to be played.
Speaking to 3Sports, the Hearts head coach reiterated that his side will make Ghana proud unlike the recent outcome the country has seen.
“For the CAF Champions League, it only has the African tag with normal players,” he said.
“Whatever the other African clubs can do, my boys can do as well. There is no way Hearts of Oak will go outside and disgrace Ghana.”
The Phobians will also be targeting the MTN FA Cup as well after clinching the league title. They face Elmina Sharks in the quarter-final stage of the cup competition.
