Accra Hearts of Oak has been in trouble since Samuel Boadu’s reign ended in September 2021. The club’s struggles to compete on all fronts continue, as nothing shows that it will stop anytime soon.
The plan to return to life is underway, and one of the most famous fans, Yussif Abdulai, who has promised to help the club regain its lost glory, has declared his intention to vie for the National Chapter’s Chairman.
The National Chapters Committees (NCC) quadrennial elections aim to promote democratic participation in the club’s affairs by fans to ensure proper leadership within the supporters’ front.
Phobia is not doing well, especially on the pitch, which has subsequently disconnected the fans who are the heartbeat of the club.
Yussif has shown keen interest in the Phobia’s NCC chairmanship with 6 serious agendas. His main agenda is to help unite the entire Hearts of Oak fan base for a common purpose to help the club win trophies. He also plans to introduce a supporter ID card for every supporter of the club.
The club indeed needs to know the exact registered members for easy mobilisation and contribution. This is something the majority of the fan base have been calling for almost a decade. They simply want to know themselves and help revive the club, according majority of them. Abdulai is Accra-based, who ticks all the boxes to become the NCC chairman of the club after also promising to get an office for the NCC and also making it function satisfactorily.
Undoubtedly, Asante Kotoko has the biggest crowd in Ghana, but Phobia is not far behind. The fans have scattered and need to be reunited. By doing so, Yussif plans to visit communities across Ghana to recruit the younger generation and kids to groom them for the future. The plan is extremely good as Ghanaian young football fans are now only interested in the European game.
Chapter O, Chapter 89, Chapter 32 and Phobian Tertiary are subgroups within the Phobian fan base that are famously known for giving morale to players and fans as well. Yussif, in his agenda for the club, revealed that he wants to support them to do more.
Regional Chapters Committees will be empowered to host the team across the regions of Ghana anytime they make a trip for games.
In his planned nationwide tour, which commenced in the capital of the Ashanti Region, Kumasi, Yussif visited humongous media houses like Oyerepa FM/TV, Kessben FM/TV, Angel FM, Pure FM, Kumasi FM and Sikka FM. The lifelong fan explained all his aims and objectives for the NCC chairmanship, much to the delight of Hearts of Oak’s fans.
Yussif is the man who may tips to be voted for as the new chairman of Hearts of Oak’s National Chapters Committees (NCC).
