Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Frederick Ansah Botchway says he is thankful to God after helping his side to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title.
The Rainbow club are the new champions of the Ghanaian too-flight with one game left to spare, following their draw with Liberty Professionals last Sunday.
Sharing his opinion on how the season has been in an interview with Accra-based Hot FM, the player said: “It has been a very challenging season but we are grateful to God for giving us the ultimate and an opportunity to represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF Champions League.”
The former Liberty star also revealed he is unhappy about the position of his former club on the league table, adding that he spoke with some of his former mates ahead of the final gameweek.
“I feel the pain of the club as their current position is not encouraging at all,” he said.
“I spoke to most of the players after we drew with them in the match week 33, I adviced them and gave them words of motivation ahead of the last game against King Faisal that they will survive relegation if they pick up all the three maximum points,” he concluded.
Liberty and Hearts of Oak take on King Faisal and WAFA in their respective games in the last round of the Ghana Premier League.
