DECISION 1: Congress unanimously vote for the ratification of the October 26,2019 – June 30,2020 GFA Budget
Commentary of SportsWorldGhana.com: Tema Youth President Wilfred Osei Kwaku described this as “expired budget” and called on the GFA to postpone the 26th Ordinary Congress to a later date in order to present a proper audited accounts. Charles Kwadwo Ntim’s Techiman City filed for court injunction against the GFA Congress of September 1st, 2020 and one of the reasons they cited was that the GFA had failed to respect the Company’s Act 157 that mandates the GFA to present audited financial accounts to its members but the application for injunction would not succeed.
DECISION 2 : Congress has by a majority decision appointed Baker Tilly Andah & Andah as the Association’s Auditors for a period of three years.
Commentary of SportsWorldGhana.com : In the previous GFA Congress of December 19th, 2019 the Congress failed to appoint new auditors but this time around they have one and it is Baker Tilly Andah & Andah that is going to work as the independent auditors of the association for the next three years. Way to go.
DECISION 3: Congress by a majority decision has approved the proposal by the Ad-hoc Compensation Committee.
By this, the proposed allowances and incentives for President, Vice and the Executive Council has been approved by Congress.
Commentary of SportsWorldGhana.com : The GFA President will pocket home 12 000 GHC as monthly allowance, the vice President of the association take home 7 000 GHC per month whilst the rest of the Executive members receive some 4 000 GHC as monthly allowance. This is no more a proposal. It is confirmed by the most powerful body of the association.
More interestingly the GFA president after receiving 12 000 GHC every month will also receive some 1 000 GHC every month for his telephone communication expenses. That is not all. If the he travels outside on a GFA assignment he will take 500 USD per day, if he is on an assignment domestically he pockets 600 GHC per day.
Good to be a football association President in Ghana. Isn’t it?
DECISION 4: Congress has unanimously approved the Work programme and Budget for the 2020/21 financial year. The budget is for the period between 1 July, 2020 – 30 June, 2021.
Commentary of SportsWorldGhana.com : The GFA expects to receive revenue of 71, 642, 158. 44 Ghana Cedis from various sources like sponsorship from Puma and Startimes, FIFA relief monies, CAF, UEFA Assist, player transfers share etc. The budgeted expenditure is of the same amount -71, 642, 158. 44 Ghana Cedis for the period covering July 2020 and June 2021. So this means the GFA is going to spend completely what they are are going to receive.
