Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner lavished praise on Black Stars Goalie Jojo Wallocott following his impressive performance for the club this season.
Wollacott was benched for Lewis Warda after the international break as the Reds raced into a two-goal lead in the first-half to clinch three points in the game.
Superb strikes from Louis Reed and Jonny Williams engineered Swindon Town’s 2-1 win over Sutton United.
However, Harry Beautyman halved the deficit for the hosts before the break and Sutton really piled on the pressure in the second-half, but Town were able to dig in and see out the game to secure the three points.
The manager after the match lauded the Ghanaian International for his great performance this season.
“Jojo Wollacott had been away but he’s done ever so well this season,” said Ben Garner.
“He had gone away, won two caps for his country and massive recognition for him for that. He came back in with us last Friday and I didn’t feel comfortable with putting a player back in the team with just one day’s training, and Lewis Ward had done so well.
“It was a tough decision, Lewis Ward deserved to stay in the team, Jojo Wollacott deserved to go back in and I’m very fortunate to have two wonderful goalkeepers regardless of the headaches that gives me.”he concluded.
Wollacott, 25, who made his Ghana debut in the Black Stars’ 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers 3-1 win over Zimbabwe, has capped 11 times for Swindon Town FC this campaign.
