Arsenal FC manager, Mikel Arteta has showed praises on Ghana star player Thomas Partey after scoring his first goal for the club on Friday night at the Emirates Sports Stadium.
The 28-year-old former Atletico Madrid star scored his first goal for the Gunners since he joined the club last season in Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Aston Villa on Friday night at the Emirate Stadium.
After a sweet delivery into the box by Emile Smith Rowe following a corner kick, the Ghanaian international headed home from close range to put the hosts 1-0 up after 23 minutes.
Speaking to the media after the win, the Gunners manager was full of praise for the midfielder.
“He is a player who has to be one of the leaders, he has to be the boss in midfield,” said Mikel Arteta after the game.
“He certainly did that here, excelling both in and out of possession and providing a platform for Arsenal’s attacking players to tear the visitors apart.
Respobding to Partey’s goal, Artea stated, “Yes because he’s be chasing it for a long time, and he could have scored another two to be fair.”I’m very happy for him, I think he enjoyed that moment in front of our supporters and I’m happy for him,” he added.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe scored to make the final score 3-1.
