Former B.A United chairman Ransford Antwi has started a fundraising exercise to financially help city rivals Bofoakwa Tano as they are on the brink of securing promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time since their relegation in the 2006/07 season.
Bofoakwa Tano are leading the Division One Zone One table with 58 points after 27 games played whereas 2nd placed Real Tamale United have 53 points having played a game less.
The historic gesture by Mr. Antwi – owner of Sun City Radio in Sunyani – has been saluted by many people as voluntarily contributions have started coming from givers already.
The full statement highlighted below was released by Mr. Ransford Antwi on Wednesday :
“Everyone knows I am a die-hard supporter of BA United, and I do not usually support activities of Bofoakwa Tano. Tomorrow, Thursday, 8th July 2021, on the Suncity Morning Drive, for the first time in my life, I’ll lead a campaign to galvanize support for our bitterest rivals, Bofo, to help energize the players and staff of the club in their last 3 matches. Sunyani deserves Premier League action.
It is time to support our own and time to fight for what is ours. I therefore, call on all Sons and Daughters of our City and Region to join this project, and donate generously towards “OPERATION BOFO B3BA 2021” …I hope I can count on you. God bless us all..For more details, pls contact Francis Konadu on 0244021908″
