Andrew Kyere Yiadom who had his debut call up into the senior national side, Black Stars of Ghana says he’s delighted joining his teammates adding it was a sign of honour for him although he was an unused substitute in Ghana’s crucial Russia 2018 World Cup second round qualifier game against Egypt.
The 24-year-old left full back Yiadom who plies his trade in England with Championship side Barnsley speaking in an interview with Asempa FM his first call up was a motivational step and has helped him to learn a lot about the Black Stars team.
He also indicated that joining the national team is going to help him and transform him immensely as a player to develop in certain areas in his professional career.
“We approached the Egypt game with a winning mentality and make it comfortable playing the other matches ahead but unfortunately that could not happen.
He remained optimistic that the Black Stars can still qualify for the mundial despite have picking just a point in their last two matches.
‘’For me, I think it is not over yet; we can still make it to Russia 2018 if we are able to take remaining matches game after game and make sure we clinch all 12 points’’.
