Black Stars and Liberty Professionals centre-back Samuel Sarfo is advocating strongly for Ghana to host next year’s CHAN competition saying it would affect the country’s economy positively by way of booming businesses.
The defender doubling as the captain for the ‘scientific soccer lads’ had an impressive campaign with the Stars in the just ended WAFU Cup,helping his nation crown as back-to-back winners of the tournament haven’t beaten hosts Senegal 3-1 at the finals in 2013.
Sarfo with his tremendous performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL) had his name written six (6) times on the scorers sheet for his outfits more than any other centre-back in the league this season, which booked him his first senior national team call-up at the Black Stars international friendlies against the ‘El Tricolor’ of Mexico in Texas and the ‘Men’s National Team’ of USA in Connecticut July this year.
The center-back in an interview with Metro Sports said “the WAFU Cup brought about the booming of businesses, most especially to the hockers, so if not for anything will affect the nation’s economy positively” he disclosed.
Adding “with the love, support and affection the people of the Central Region channeled towards us will like to also return them all by way of taking part in CHAN competition as the host nation,” he noted.
Sarfo aside soccer works as a post-match police officer for his country, which he does spectacularly well combining it with football.
