Long before he became known for his explosive runs down the wing, Kwadwo Baah was already turning heads on the track. As a youngster, he competed regularly in both the 100 and 200-meter sprints, where his natural speed set him apart from his peers.
“I did athletics alongside football growing up,” Baah shared. “I used to run the 100 and 200 meters. I really enjoyed it.”
Those early years as a sprinter helped him develop the acceleration and power he now uses on the pitch. Whether it was school sports days or regional competitions, Kwadwo often found himself among the fastest in his age group—flying out of the blocks with sharp bursts and finishing with commanding speed.
“Running was a big part of my childhood. It taught me discipline and gave me that edge with my pace on the football pitch,” he said.
Though football eventually became his main focus, the foundation built on the track remains a key part of his game today. Every time he breaks past a defender, there’s a bit of his sprinting past behind it.
