Ghanaian budding striker Abass Issah says he did not struggle at all in accepting German Bundesliga side Mainz 05 offer after completing his move on Friday.
The 19-year old forward’s five-year deal which will see him tied to the club til 2023 disclosed in his first interview that accepting a move to German was never a headache to him having followed the club for long.
He joins Mainz 05 from Slovenian side NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
The Ghanaian teen, played 53 competitive games for the reigning Slovenian champions and cup winners since the summer of 2017, scoring 17 goals.
“I’m thrilled to be here, it was always my dream to play at a high level,” said Abass Issah
. He added “When I heard about Mainz 05’s offer, I did not have to think twice, and the talks with sporting director Rouven Schröder and coach Sandro Schwarz have finally convinced me and I cannot wait to train with the team for the first time next week,”
