Ghana’s head coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor says he’s not under any pressure to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations trophy in Cameroon next year.
According to him, the media in Ghana gives him a lot of pressure to win the AFCON trophy but he is unperturbed about the pressure of the media.
He further stated that his team is preparing adequately for the tournament which will be staged in Cameroon next year.
Speaking to TV3 after the draw, Akonnor said he personally doesn’t feel any pressure to win the country’s 5th AFCON title.
“I am not under any pressure [to win the tournament]. You guys [the media] give me pressure back home but for me, I don’t care
“We are preparing feverishly for the tournament and the world cup qualifiers and I’m sure we will be ready,” he said.
Ghana are without an AFCON trophy since they last won it in Libya in 1982 which will be 42 years when the tournament kick-start.
