Asante Kotoko Chief Execuive Officer has revealed that he never imposed a player on former head coach Maxwell Konadu.
Konadu – who won the 2011.12 league title with the Porcupine Warriors – did not go beyond a second season in his second stint with Kotoko as he was fired just a day after losing a league match against Accra Great Olympics.
“I never imposed any player on Maxwell Konadu.” Nana Yaw Amponsah said on Oyerepa Radio on Saturday morning.
“In any case have you seen a CEO who imposed players on a coach and then those same players are not playing” Nana Yaw quizzed.
“What we did were recommendations we made to the coach and he had the final say to reject or accept. For instance Patrick Asmah was a player that we recommeded to the coach and he said the player is a good player and so he will want to work with him. Konadu had the final say and so it is not true that I imposed some players on the coach” the CEO explained.
