Arsenal FC are reluctant to let striker Eddie Nketiah leave the club in January.
The Gunners manager Mikel Arteta made it clear to Sky Sports after the youngster’s Carabao Cup Hat-trick against Sunderland that: “I want him to stay, but he just wants more minutes. It’s difficult to fight back, but the club and I personally really want him to stay – that’s what we’re trying to do. ”
Nketia’s contract at Arsenal expires in the summer and he does not want to extend it so far.
Nketiah who is currently being chased by the Ghana Football Association to play for the Black Stars, is on the radar of West Ham United and Aston Villa.
In the current season, the center forward only has 38 minutes in the league, in the EFL Cup Nketiah scored five goals in three games.
Borussia Mönchengladbach, among others, is said to be interested in the young Englishman. Arteta emphasizes: “I’ve always said what I think of him, how much we like him and that his contribution is great for us every time he plays.”
