After Crystal Palace secured a 3-1 victory against Brentford at Selhurst Park, Ghanaian international Jordan Ayew expressed the significance of the win, emphasizing its positive impact on the team’s confidence.

Ayew played a crucial role in the victory, providing an assist to Michael Olise for the second time in four days. As he prepares to join the Black Stars for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Ayew highlighted the importance of the win, especially after a two-month period without a victory.

“It was a big game for us,” Ayew remarked. “We hadn’t won for two months, and it was important to win. It was my last game before I’m off to the Africa Cup of Nations, and I wanted to go away with a win.”

Being the last game of the year 2023, Ayew emphasized the significance of ending on a positive note, both for the team and the supporters. He described the win as massive, contributing to the players’ confidence and belief.

“Obviously it was the last game of the year [2023] as well, at home, so it was important to win and give the supporters something to cheer about.

“The win was massive; massive for our confidence, and for our belief as well. To end the year like that was perfect.”

With 92 caps for Ghana, Ayew is set to make his sixth Africa Cup of Nations appearance in Ivory Coast, aiming to continue his impactful contributions on the international stage.
